Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A particularly early Edwardian timber house, built by Purnell and Sons in 1890. It is architecturally significant locally as a good example of their work and as a characteristic house of the period. It is historically significant in embodying fin de siecle life in Newtown.

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
A doublefronted hip roofed timber very Early Edwardian house. The left bay is set forward as a gable and the upper gable jettys on unusual fretwork valance and brackets which continues around the eaves. The gable has a shallow bow window of four panels with highlights and a flat roof. The verandah is in the angle with triple bullnosed brackets and post pairs, with deep concave fretwork brackets.
