Residence - Physical Description 1
This is a single fronted house with a recessed entrance porch on the east side. The front room has a projecting gable end which forms a verandah. The front elevation is highly decorative. The tympanum is on the main wall and includes stylized quoining, and all decorations below the casement windows. The verandah valance is a most unusual design of long, slender, straight vertical timbers and eight short horizontal ones. Below this is a solid piece of timber which forms an arch with a small trefoil cut out of each end. Similar valence decoration can be seen at No 8 The Esplanade South circa 1900.
