Residence - Physical Description 1
The front elevation is dominated by the large, central hipped roof and the timber fretwork of the gable-end which projects at right angles to it. The latter is further accentuated by the formation of a porch below it. At the opposite end of the elevation there is a splayed corner window highlighted by gablet projecting directly above and separate from the central hip roof. It is unusual for the eye to be drawn away from the front entrance however this is the case in a number of Geelong West houses of this period. The single storey building is clad in weatherboards and the hipped and gabled roof is clad in corrugated iron. Decorative elements include the half-timbering of the gable tympanums, the window hoods, the banded chimneys and the delicate timber fretwork of the gable-end, verandah valance and brackets.
