Statement of Significance
This house, formerly known as 'Warlee', was built c.1885. The original owner of the property also owned the adjoining 9 lots to the west in South Street (now nos. 42-62 approx.) and the adjoining lots to the north in Middle Street (now nos.35-57 approx.). In 1905 the land was subdivided into 18 lots as the 'Warlee Estate', with this house retained on lot 1. Subsequent subdivision to create nos. 38A and 42 has reduced the lot to its present size.
