STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
40 Maud Street has architectural significance at a local level. It is a substantially intact example of a timber Bungalow residence, a common Geelong housing type early this century. It retains the characteristic form and features of the style with the unusual incorporation of a Federation style return verandah.

DESCRIPTION
40 Maud Street is a timber Bungalow residence retaining a high degree of integrity. The house has a typical asymmetrical facade with a Federation style return verandah, a large corrugated iron roof, projecting gables at the front and sides, and a brick chimney with terracotta pot. Notable details include the timber double verandah posts with valance, and double hung sash windows with lead light glazing. The front gable has a window hood and features imitation timber shingles. A cream painted brick fence at the front of the site is a later addition.
