Statement of Significance
Non-original alterations and additions, including the skillion addition at the south end, are not significant.
It is significant as a rare example of a school provided by local residents and leased to the Education Department. It is notable because very few of these locally built schools were constructed after 1910 when the Education Department developed a standard design especially for small schools in rural areas. (Criterion B)

HAZEL PARK STATE SCHOOL NO.4363 (FORMER) - Physical Description 1
The former Hazel Park State School No. 4363 is a small gabled weatherboard building, rectangular in plan, with four evenly spaced four-over-four pane timber sash windows in the side walls, and a small gabled entry porch at the north end. There is a later skillion addition at the south end.
The large pine trees along the road reserve may be associated with the development of the school. An interpretive sign facing the road provides historic information including the school name and dates of opening and closing.
