Statement of Significance
Internal features include tuck pointed brick interior walls and pointed arches above the chancel, which has a timber dado, stained glass memorial windows and timber scissor trusses to the ceiling.
The church hall is a rectangular brick building with gabled roof concealed behind a plain stepped parapet with a rendered cross and small sign. The facade comprises a double entry door placed off centre, and three narrow windows with brick sills below a rendered hood that extends to form a canopy above the entry. The foundation stone is beneath one of the windows.
Non-original alterations and additions, other than those specified above, are not significant.
Aesthetically, St Paul's is a fine and well-detailed example of an Interwar Arts & Crafts Gothic church with typical features such as the buttressed walls and label moulds to lancet windows. Notable features include the central windows with tracery including the large rose window, while the simply detailed interior is enhanced by stained glass memorial windows, tuck pointed brickwork and timber trusses. Situated on a prominent corner, the church and tower are a landmark within Korumburra. (Criterion E)
St Paul's has social value for its strong and enduring associations with the local community through its use as a church and parish centre, which has been a focal point of the local Anglican congregation for almost 100 years. (Criterion G)
