HOUSE - Physical Description 1
The house at 68 Mitchell Street, Brunswick is a bi-chromatic brick Italianate villa, notable for its unusual crenellated parapet to the bay window on the front facade. The merlons (raised part of the crenellations) appear to take the form of miniature crow-stepped gables.
Other features include: a hipped corrugated galvanised steel roof, with a projecting gable end to the front facade over the bay window; segmental arches to the window openings with bi-chromatic detailing to the window surrounds; tuck-pointing, particularly under the verandah; and paired brackets to the eave line.
The verandah has been altered. The front fence is not original.Heritage Study and Grading
