The dwelling at 609 Park Street, Brunswick is a brick Federation QueenAnne house with hip roof in terracotta Marseilles tiles punctuated by gable-roofed first floor balcony with timber panelled ceiling, and a trio of dormer windows on east and west sides, with the central dormer gabled. Small terracotta finials are similarly used alongside ridgecapping as decoration. The masonry features evidence of tuck pointing and horizontal 'blood and bandages' detail rendered and painted in cream, including across window sills and lintels. Its broadly symmetrical facade and elevations are broken by asymmetrical entry porch, which also features leadlight windows likely to be original. Verandah joinery features chamfered timber posts, timber valence with decorative cutaways and simple timber brackets The entry pathway is paved in tessellated terracotta tiles that are in excellent condition and may be original. Timber fence is unlikely to be original but is in keeping with the style.
Situated opposite former inner circle railway on a wide street lined with M elaleuca linariifolia (AKA 'Snow in summer'). The dwelling is a survivor of its era between two low-rise postwar blocks of flats.
Park Street is a wide street lined with native plantings such as gum trees and Melaleuca linariifolia. The housing stock on the northern side of Park Street within the vicinity of the subject site is characterised by a mixture of Victorian, Federation and Inter-War dwellings. The subject site is located opposite the Hardy Gallagher Reserve.
