BLUESTONE COTTAGE - Physical Description 1
130 Barkly Street is a single storey cottage of random coursed bluestone construction and a hipped slated roof, featuring scalloped slates to the front. The cast iron verandah has a concave corrugated galvanised steel roof, and appears to be a recent addition. The symmetrical front elevation has a central, four panelled door, flanked by two timber-framed double hung windows with bluestone quoined surrounds and dressed bluestone sills. Only the front elevation is tuckpointed, in contrast to the deeper and more random courses of the side elevations. There is a bluestone chimney on the east side of the building and geometric cast iron wall vents remain. A brick extension to the rear has a hipped slate roof and a brick chimney. Gutters, downpipes and ridge capping have been replaced.
