HOUSE & FRONT FENCE - Physical Description 1
The house at 36 Alister Street, East Brunswick is an imposing two storey triple-fronted postwar house constructed of orange bricks in the 'Waterfall' style. Typical features of the style include the curved walls and steel-framed windows with horizontal glazing bars across the stepped facade (the window to front bay extending across the whole bay). The hipped roof is clad in glazed tiles and there is one stepped brick chimney. The steep slope in the block means that the house is elevated above a projecting garage, which has a balcony on the roof that is enclosed by a decorative wrought iron balustrade that extends to the entry stairs. The low brick fence with wrought iron gates is probably contemporary with the house.
Although there have been some minor alterations and additions, it appears reasonably intact and is in good condition.HOUSE & FRONT FENCE - Physical Conditions
