Manchester House, 1911-1912.

21/06/17

This building is notable for its very early use of steel framed windows - different on front and rear elevations, but replaced on the west elevation. It is unknown if they are from Hopes, Crittalls or some other manufacturer. It also employs the early use of a reinforced concrete structural frame. The description of its style as Neo-Baroque is inappropriate. If it can be classified as anything , it would be Federation Freestyle.
