Statement of Significance
A simple and unpretentious corrugated iron building first constructed in 1906 and occupied by the oldest extant patternmaking establishment in Victoria, in which traditional hand methods are still practised in an authentic working environment.
The development of specialist pattern-making establishments was peculiar to Melbourne and closely associated with the many brass and iron foundries once situated in South Melbourne.
