Statement of Significance
What is significant?
This is the largest known English Oak in Victoria for canopy spread and trunk circumference, although a specimen at Fernshaw is 28m high. The tree is a major feature in these gardens. The tree underwent tree surgery in 1985 when a cable was inserted to prevent the possibility of the trunk splitting.
