Rare or localised:
A large and attractive specimen of this unusual Oak. A native of the Himalayas the tree is cultivated in Victorai at Kyneton, Castlemaine (poor), Royal Botanic Gardens, and the former Taylor & Sangster Nursery at Mount Macedon. A smaller tree is growing along French Street
It's unusual leaf colour and form makes it an attractive planting in the gardens.
Species formerly known as Quercus leucotrichophora.
