Flemington Bridge on Flemington Road

Robyn Talbot 09/04/18

In 1849 Flemington Bridge across Mooney Ponds Creek on Flemington Road, was erected by my Great Great Grandfather James Patrick Main. It was originally called Main's Bridge after it's builder but within two years changed to Flemington Bridge. The bridge was much used by heavy traffic when Sydney Road became impassable during winter. The cost of the Mooney Ponds Bridge - 200 pounds.
