First land sale 1837, part of Allotment 17 Block 13 purchased by James Smith and part of Allotment 18, purchased by Thomas Brown.1839 - building on Allotment 181-877 - four-storey building, Walker May & Co. 1880 - four-storey building, Printers and two three-storey buildings. 1905 - two three-storey buildings.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Site associated with early subdivision, formal establishment of the city.
