Third land sale 1838, Block 11, Allotment 10 purchase by J & ED Betts, J Panton. Possibly built upon 1839. 1866 - building on site. 1877 - nine buildings one- to three-storeys; shops and hotel. 1888 - two three-storey buildings, South African Club Hotel;four one-storey shops.
