Statement of Significance
This place is included on the Victorian Heritage Inventory, for its potential to contain historical archaeological remains associated with the settlement and growth of early Melbourne. Under the terms of the Heritage Act 2017 there is protection for all historical archaeology sites and objects in the state.

MELBOURNE PLACE - Heritage Inventory Description
Fourth land sale 1838, Allotments 18 & 19, Block 10, purchased by William Horden. Building possibly on this site, 1839. 1866 - building on site. 1871 - two-storey brick and stone store on site, rebuilt 1874, Stanford & Co. 1888 - two-storeys, Boyce & Kemp, Lithographers. 1905 - two-storeys, FT Wimble, Printers Supplies.
Archeological Potential: Extant bldg Fabric, Site.
