This place is included on the Victorian Heritage Inventory, for its potential to contain historical archaeological remains associated with the settlement and growth of early Melbourne. Under the terms of the Heritage Act 2017 there is protection for all historical archaeology sites and objects in the state.

First land sale 1837, Allotment 6, Block 12, Henry Howey.1856 - Katzenstein & Co., Merchants, Iron store on site. Replaced by stone store in 1857.1877 - 1 x 2 storey building, Harrison Cork Merchant; 1 x 1 storey brick shed.1888 - 1 x 2 storey building, E Harvey, Soda Water Manufacturer; 1 x 4 storey building.1905 - 1 x 3 storey building.
