HOUSE - Physical Description 1
A building of near cubic proportions this house is built partly of rubble stonework with brick windows and door surrounds, and partly of brick.
The building had a two storey verandah over the main entry which has since been removed. A side entrance has since been filled. The rear upper storey of brickwork could well be a later addition to the original stone building of two storey front section and single storey rear section.
The building has recently been re-roofed. From the condition of the stone walls it is possible that the original intention was to render the building.
Its simple form and austerety indicate an early date of construction.
The Georgian proportions and features of this house are unusual to Ballarat.Heritage Study and Grading
