STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A characteristic Edwardian house, built in 1907.
It is architecturally significant locally as representative of the Edwardian domestic style, for its strongly modeled chimneys and as one of a group of 12 relatively and most varied in Aberdeen Street.
It is significant historically as a representative embodiment of the way of life in Edwardian Newtown.
Intactness: Very good. The comer gable appears to be an infilled verandah bay refer ref 12. The picket fence is recent. The colour scheme is not quite correct.

Residence (Formerly "Burnlea") - Physical Description 1
A triple fronted timber gambrel-fronted Edwardian house. The right front and left side bays are set forward as gables, their upper sections roughcast forwardand have fretwork brackets. The upper gable also has disc and apron-work decoration. The front gable has a rectangular bay over which the gable extends, with a skillion ripple-iron hood on raio brackets.
Chimneya are massive and strongly modelled with brick moulds, strips, corbelled bands and pairs of pots. At the corner is a smaller gable terminating the front verandah, beneath the main roof. It has a fretwork and rail valence with fretwork brackets and an arch over the central entrance. This has a glazed Edwardian door with sidelights, all in leadlight with leaf decorations on the soffits.
