STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A timber Italianate house built inc c1870, with major alterations in the Californian Bungalow manner. It has architectural significance of these style, and in particular details such as the eaves valence. It has historic significance in demonstrating a sequence of occupancy and as a representative embodiment of life in Newtown in both periods.
INTACTNESS: Very good. There is 1960's flat-roofed addition at the right side. The high timber fence is not appropriate..
CONDITIONS AND THREATS: Very good.

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
A symmetrical double-fronted timber Italianate house, with major alterations to the front in the Californian Bungalow manner. It has an unusual eaves valence in a shield pattern, supported by widely spaced ogee bracket pairs. The left bay has a Bungalow gable facing with shingles, jettying on convex bracket pairs and a canted bay window below. The hipped verandah projects around, with a gently curved transom with square fretwork decoration. Windows are casements, with rectangular lead-lights and lights over. The remnant Victorian entrance has side and fanlights. The three chimneys r quot have Classical mouldings. There is a further Victorian wing set back at right.
