Essendon Boer War Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Essendon Boer War Memorial, a granite cenotaph, is engraved with the names of 68 fallen and returned soldiers who fought in the Boer War. The monument was first erected as a Rockery on June 2nd 1902 to commemorate the Boer War and the accession to the throne of King Edward VIII. It was then re-erected in its present form on August 30th 1936.
