HOUSE (AVENEL) - Physical Description 1
Avenel is a two-storey red brick Victorian house. It has a balustraded parapet front with name. The two-storey verandah is enclosed within wing walls and has fine rendered arches (dogtooth detail) to the ground level, while the upper verandah has cast-iron lace. Other detailing includes leadlights to the original front door and as highlights on first floor, bi-chrome brick chimneys, and an original palisade fence with ornate Grecian cast-iron posts, originally similar to No.64. It is complemented by a traditional front garden layout.
The brick of facade is overpainted but otherwise it has a very high degree of external integrity.Heritage Study and Grading
