Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
One of an early semi-detached brick pair, built before 1859. It is architecturally significant locally as a relatively intact rare survival of a building type unusual in Newtown. It is historically significant as a surviving unusual embodiment of the way of life in early Newtown.

Description
An early semi-detached tree-bay masonry (tuckpointed rockfaced bluestone) early cottage with a hipped roof. There are two shared fine bichromatic (brown and cream dressings) brick chimneys with corbelled tops. The double-hung windows at front have horizontal glazing bars and there are Barrabool sandstone dressed smooth quoins at front corners and window openings. The skillion verandah has fretwork covered brackets.
