The house, constructed by Peter Rodger in 1913, at 80 Victoria Street, Williamstown.
How is it Significant?The house at 80 Victoria Street, Williamstown is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Hobsons Bay.
Why is it Significant?Historically, it was closely associated with the locally important Rodger family who constructed other unusual and successfully designed houses in Williamstown and large contracts within Victoria. (AHC criterion H1)
Aesthetically, it is an unusual, original and skilful combination of forms outside of the prevailing Queen Anne styles but combining some of its elements with late Victorian traits also possesses valuable period details. (AHC criteria E1 and F1)

Architects were Laver, Fick and Vance designed 1896 for 18 Laverton Street Williamstown, for Peter Rodger not built there but in 1913 at 80 Victoria Street with only minimal changes. Peter Rodger did a number of buildings with Laver, Fick and Vance.
