The shop with upper level residence at 53 Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds is historically significant to the City of Moonee Valley.
Why is it significant?
The shop and upper level residence at no. 53 Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds, was erected in 1902-03 for Johann Heinrick Louis Busch and occupied by Edgar and Ernest Busch. It is a representative building of its period, now diminished in cultural value by the replacement of the original shopfront.

SHOP & RESIDENCE - Physical Description 1
A representative two storeyed shop and residence, the shop front and presumed posted verandah having been replaced and the upper level retaining its tuck pointed red brick facade with coupled windows and stuccoed ornamentation at parapet level consisting of a curved pediment with shell end motif surmounting the date "A.D.1902" and terminations to residual pilasters also having shell end decoration. The condition is sound and external integrity medium.
