What is significant?
The house, garage and front fence, constructed c.1930, at 7 Cadman Street, Brunswick West.
How is it significant?
The house, garage and front fence at 7 Cadman Street, Brunswick West are of local aesthetic significance and local historic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of historic significance as evidence of the further development of Cadman Street between 1925 and 1930. (AHC Criteria A.4)
Of aesthetic significance as a reasonably intact representative example of a Californian Bungalow, which is complemented by now rare examples of an early garage and front fence that enhance its setting. (AHC Criterion E.1)

HOUSE, GARAGE & FRONT FENCE - Physical Description 1
The house at 7 Cadman Street is a Californian Bungalow, weatherboard, with corrugated iron roof, two red brick chimneys, gables with simple fascia panelling, a bay window and a two-paned double hung sash leadlight window. The brick verandah has round concrete pillars. The main double door includes a decorative fly-wire screen door.
The garage has double timber doors and a shingle fascia under the eaves. The front fence is original Cyclone wire with a pedestrian gate and double driveway gates with simple wrought iron detailing to the tops of the wire frames. A small concrete path leads from the footpath to the front verandah.Note on fence Feb 2011: Further research needed to confirm if cyclone wire fence is original or more recent
