Crown Hotel - Physical Description 1
The original hotel enterprise on this land was carried out in a two-storied timber building constructed in c. 1852 for publican, George Selleck. The existing polychrome brick structure was built in c. 1884, after the earlier establishment was, destroyed by fire. An early photograph shows a simple central porch entrance formed from a first floor balcony. The distinctive polychrome brick detailing has been painted, and removal of this paint is recommended.
