Statement of Significance
Architecturally, an unusually detailed and large villa which is near original and part of a notable streetscape: of metropolitan importance. Historically, a speculator's residence sited beside his venture also part of a development which aimed at a higher-level market than elsewhere in the area: of local importance and metropolitan interest.

Misteria - Physical Description 1
Equipped, like 2 and 4 Church Street with an unusual scalloped gable, placed over a projecting, parapetted window bay, this house originally possessed nine rooms and brick stabling at the rear, when it was built and retains a two-level iron ornamented verandah which returns on three sides. The Medieval influence of the Tudoresque bay and gable is furthered by the label moulds, terminated on bosses, across openings under the verandah. Like 2, 4 Church Street, an iron picket fence is used at the frontage.
Misteria - Integrity
