RESURRECTION HOUSE - Physical Description 1
A slated M-hip roofed, Italianate styled two-storey (former) house with stuccoed brick walls, a two-level arcaded front verandah and a central tower with balustraded parapet and orbs. Eaves brackets, barrelled chimney tops and string-moulds, provide some of the restrained ornament.
Externally, the upper arcade has been enclosed and an unsympathetic face-brick addition made to the north.
An exotic landscape setting is sympathetic, if of a later date: Cypress (obscuring house), palms and clipped hedges are contributively elements.
Streetscape
The landscape period (c1920) extends to the north to include a contemporary former dwelling; adjoining buildings are of mixed, non-contributive character; and the site is on a hill and therefore prominent.Heritage Study and Grading
