Statement of Significance
Architecturally, a near complete example of the typical Italianate row house style of the era, but expressed in an uncommon detached, hip-roofed form and possessing unusual details: of regional importance. Historically, little is as yet known of Flanagan.

HOUSE (ROYSTON) - Physical Description 1
A two-storey hipped roof, stuccoed Italianate styled villa with a two-level cast-iron verandah and ornate stucco ornamentation at the ground level. The entrance fanlight arid side lights are unusually large, whilst the impost and architrave mouldings are also bold. Other unusual ornament includes the urns placed on blocks at the first floor line; verandah dentillation is also complete as is the deep eaves bracketting.
HOUSE (ROYSTON) - Integrity
Generally original except for the absence of a fence (presumed timber picket.) and the addition of a concrete driveway and garden path.
HOUSE (ROYSTON) - Physical Description 2
Streetscape
A large detached row-house form in a short, relatively narrow street with similarly aged and styled buildings adjoining and opposite.
