HOUSE - Physical Description 1
The house at 39 Cassels Road, Brunswick is a red brick transitional late Edwardian bungalow of unusual and individual design. It has a steeply raked terracotta tiled roof with ridge capping and finials that incorporates a verandah at the front and side, which is supported by very tall tapered extruded rough cast and brick pillars. There are at least two tall rendered chimneys with terracotta pots. Other notable features include the box bay windows with side hung casements and leadlight highlights to the side and front elevations, the porthole window, and stucco and half-timbering to the gable end.
While the house exhibits many features that are typical of late Edwardian or interwar buildings found in Brunswick, this building is notable for its individual design.
The front wire fence is sympathetic, but is probably later than the house.HOUSE - Physical Conditions
