HOUSE - Physical Description 1
The house is a single storey Italianate dwelling, asymmetrical in form, with a projecting bay to the west side and half verandah across the balance of the facade. A cobbled carriage way is shared with 230 Victoria Street.
The house is elaborately detailed. Cream bricks are used as quoins to the windows and front door opening and shaped bricks are used as a string course and eave brackets. The tall chimneys also feature cream brick detailing and have a wide moulded capping. The roof is clad in an unusual type of clay tile which warrants further investigation.
The verandah roof is ogee in form with a deep cast iron lace frieze set onto timber posts. Encaustic tiles cover the verandah floor and the front entry pathway. The projecting bay to the west has paired round-headed arched windows, with double hung sashes. The other main window has side lights. Bluestone sills are used on the main facade windows. Adjacent to the front door is a rendered round-headed niche.
The house appears substantially intact with the major change being the later fence and garden plantings.HOUSE - Physical Conditions
