HOUSE - Physical Description 1
The house at 62 Holmes Road is a single-storey rendered brick villa with a hipped slate roof supported on moulded brackets. The street frontage is unusually wide, comprising a recessed portion with verandah - the width of a standard double-fronted villa - with a projecting canted bay at the eastern end. This bay, articulated by moulded stringcourses, cornices and capped piers, has three roundarched windows with moulded architraves and plain keystones. The recessed portion has a central doorway flanked by rectangular windows; the skillion-roofed verandah has clearly been rebuilt during the inter-War period, and is now supported on a series of squat fluted piers on a roughcast-rendered brick dwarf wall.
