The shop at 470 Sydney Road, Coburg is of local aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of aesthetic significance as an unusual example of a early 20th century two storey shopfront Coburg. The shopfront conrtributes to the historic Sydney Road landscape. (AHC Criterion E.1)

SHOP & RESIDENCE - Physical Description 1
The shop at 470 Sydney Road Coburg is a single two storey shop with an unusual double round arched facade. The building is intact to the upper storey and may also be intact at ground floor.
The upper floor is a painted ashlar wall with two double hung sash windows and a verandah, concealed by an unadorned unpainted rendered wall with two large open round arches which meet with the solid wall balustrade. The outer wall has a stylised solid parapet with a central shallow arch flanked by pilasters and urns, then scrolls to the tops of the outer parapet.
The ground floor features a central glazed double door and highlight, flanked by curved glass windows.SHOP & RESIDENCE - Physical Conditions
